Tofield RCMP attends to a vehicle fire in town

During the last week, Tofield RCMP responded to 25 calls for service, six of which were traffic vehicle collisions.

On Jan. 27, the Tofield Fire department and Tofield RCMP attended to a vehicle fire on Rge. Rd. 205 and Twp. Rd. 502. The truck was plugged due to the cold weather and the block heater caught fire. The fire caused minor damage to the garage and the truck was a total loss. No one was injured during this event and the fire was deemed non suspicious.

On Jan. 29, a female attended the front counter of the Tofield RCMP detachment to enquire about a restraining order. She stated that she was assaulted when leaving the Sherwood Park Court House on Jan. 7. The female was provided with guidance in the process by Beaver County Victim Services Unit.

On Jan. 30, Tofield RCMP received a request for a well being request for a female who had not been seen or heard from in a month. The female has not attended her work or answered her phone during this time. Members attended the last known rural address for the female. She was found in good health with no issues noted.

On Jan. 31, there was a complaint of an abandoned vehicle . . . contd.
