Food drive donations down considerably

Each year, the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints (LDS) hosts a food drive to fill up the Tofield and Ryley Area (TRA) Food Bank shelves, and this year was no different.

This past Saturday, Sept. 26 they held their annual food drive in town.

“In previous years we were able to drop off a bag and a flyer to every home in Tofield,” said Dan Hillyer, Communication Specialist for the church. “This year because of Covid-19 restrictions we were unable to drop off the bags.”

For past several years they have collected about 2,000 pounds of food, however this year the number was significantly less, just over 200 pounds. . . . contd.
