Welcome Basket keeps busy in March

Tofield’s Welcome Basket program has been busy in March, and continues to help newcomers in the community.

“We’ve given out six baskets this month, and have three more families to get a hold of,” said Brenda Chehade, one of the program managers. “The baskets are well received and people are amazed at the information that they receive in the binder. They also comment on the goodies provided by local businesses and groups within the community.

“The residents of Long Term Care have started giving handmade dishcloths to the baskets. The knitting/crocheting group supply us with mitts, toques, slippers and scarfs.”

Chehade said she has also been busy putting together more baskets. According to her, it has been more challenging due to COVID-19. contd.
