Tofield’s Taylor LeClaire took the Bronze medal with partner Christopher Mostert, 17, in the pairs competition at the Canadian Figure Skating Championships in Mississauga, Ont. last Tuesday.

5th Annual Kimmett Cup raises funds to help benefit others

On Jan. 19, current and former residents of Tofield Mike Kauffman, Ryan Wenger, Craig Wiens and Steve Williams convened in Cochrane, Alberta to participate in the 5th annual Kimmett Cup.

Ice expected to be ready by early February for Tofield curlers – three bonspiels to be held within two months

Mark Lampitt (left) and Scott Smulski were busy installing the necessary plumbing and pipes to the ice making machinery at the Tofield Curling Rink last week.

Tofield and area curl-ers will be kept quite busy at their local curling rink once the ice is in place at the beginning of February.

Taylor LeClaire, 15, of Tofield competes in the Novice Singles at the National Figure Skating Championships this week in Mississauga, Ont., and in the Novice Pairs with partner Christopher Mostert, 17, of St. Albert. Both belong to the Ice Palace Figure Skating Club at West Edmonton Mall.
