Claystone Waste gets its first Board of Directors, former Deputy Minister named Board Chair

On Thursday, Oct. 22, Claystone Waste Ltd. – which is the newly formed municipally controlled corporation owned by Beaver County, the Towns of Tofield and Viking, and Villages of Ryley and Holden – appointed its first Board of Directors.

Constituting of experienced professionals, they were selected through a competitive process and assumed their positions on Nov. 1.

The Board Chair is Meryl Whittaker, who is a former Deputy Minister at the Government of Alberta. The other directors are Ron Helmhold, a Chartered Accountant with significant experience in both public practice and private industry; Cathy Kiss, an experienced advisor of political, public-sector, and private-sector leaders; Bernd Manz, former CEO of Aquatera Utilities from 2003 until 2019; and Jay Nagendran, registrar and CEO of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). . . . contd.
