Firearm allegedly pointed at residents along TWP 502

During the past week Tofield RCMP responded to 40 calls for service. Included in the calls for service is 5 motor vehicle collision mostly involving animals, and two false alarms. 

On Oct. 3 Tofield RCMP responded to a complaint of two youth males at the Guardian Pharmacy.

Holden holds all candidate’s forum

The Village of Holden Council election forum was held on Sunday, Oct. 1 at the Seniors Drop-In Centre with six candidates vying for the five council seats available.

Candidates are incumbents Bernie Marko and Mark Giebelhaus, as well as Jim Boutilier, Doug Hanson, John Markel and Steve Marusiak.

Holden council defers public behaviour bylaw Little public support for bylaw, public calls it waste of time and abuse of council

Holden Village Council stepped back from passing third and final reading on a proposed public behaviour bylaw after a recent community meeting indicated there was little public support for it.

The bylaw already has two out of the necessary three readings completed in order to enact it. But council’s Sept. 18 meeting saw a motion by Councillor Bernie Marko passed to defer the decision until the next council meeting, likely taking place after the Oct. 16 election.
