“Anyone can fall – Prevent it from happening to you”

Grade 4 students from C.W. Sears School in Tofield walk around the gym in the Tofield Mennonite Church Hall as part of an inter-generational event designed to highlight the need for all age groups to remain active and prevent falls.
“Anyone can fall – prevent it from happening to you,” is the theme for this month’s fall prevention drive. And it’s true that nobody sets out on any given day to fall, but it can happen at any time with devastating consequences.

Satellites move to 7-1 with exciting last second victory over Mohawks at Tofield Arena

Tofield Satellites stretched its lead atop the Battle River Hockey League (BRHL) by two points with two games at hand after an 8-7 victory over the Macklin Mohawks at Tofield Arena on Saturday evening.

In a topsy-turvy, back-and-forth game, Satellites overcame a 3-0 first period deficit by scoring two goals in the last 1:05; and the first three in the middle frame to take a 5-3 lead at 7:25 of period two. Mohawks closed the gap to one before the period was out to set up a thrilling third period.

Tofield Satellites maintained its firm grip on first place in the Battle River Hockey League (BRHL) with a 7-4 home victory over Irma Aces on Saturday to avenge its only loss of the season.

Tofield got to Irma goalie Tyler Soucy, after he stoned the Satellites a week prior.

Satellites’ high powered offence continued its prominence by scoring early and often, gaining a 4-1 lead only 6:02 into the middle frame.

Tofield RCMP responding to continuing accidents

Nov. 17: Police responded to a crash on Twp. Rd. 504 at approximately 6:20 p.m.

A pickup truck travelling north rear ended a farm tractor. The pickup had been southbound, then turned to go northbound and struck the north bound tractor. There were no injuries but there was extensive damage done to both the truck and tractor.
