Tofield IGA wins Canadian Indpendent Grocer of the Year Award for Northern Alberta region

It’s no secret that the Tofield IGA provides excellent service and community involvement, but the store has just been recognized by its peers for that dedication.

Dave Hare, owner/operator of Tofield IGA, is no stranger to winning awards. That’s because Hare’s store has already won three times since 1998 for the northern Alberta/Northwest Territory/Nunavit region.

This year’s theme for the Tofield and District Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Week Dinner and Awards Night was “Small Business…Big Impact.”

And that’s exactly what the evening’s festivities highlighted as local businesses in general were honoured with a delicious chicken dinner, catered by Margaret Stutzman and group, in an atmosphere of beautiful decor, supplied courtesy of Lions Garden and Bloomers in a Bunch.

Clean Harbors held an information session last Wednesday in the Village of Ryley that included a free supper for the public and the announcement of thousands in donations to local projects.
