Tofield RCMP report multiple break-ins to rural mail boxes

On July 5, 2016 RCMP received a call of a theft of a truck from Tofield, Alberta. A white F150 was parked at the UFA parking lot over the weekend. When the owner returned, he found the vehicle was missing. RCMP are still investigating.

July 12th is Teddy Bear Picnic Day. That’s about a week away from when I’m writing this. I haven’t decided if I’ll take my bears out for lunch in a park or if I’ll pretend, just like in previous years, that I was unaware that their special day was upon us.

I have several teddy bears, the starter bear being one that had to come home with me because he was named Livingston. I mean, you can’t leave a family member sitting all alone on a store shelf in Whitefish, Montana and expect to sleep well. He’s blond and can’t sit up straight even when propped against a wall.

Lutz story picKathy Lutz has written multiple letters to the Provincial Government, trying to get one thing, change.

Lutz lives in the residential area beside Highway 834 in Tofield and three years after being told that the highway would be rerouted, there still hasn’t been any indication of a change to come.

“In the last three years the amount of traffic has tripled and the noise is constant 24 hours a day 7 days a week,” reads Lutz’s latest letter to the Minister of Transport.

The highway is the ‘high load corridor’ between major highways 16 and 14, so is frequented by semis, farm machinery, local traffic, and
