Holden Council working to keep improving main street

The Village of Holden held its regular council meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 21 with Mayor Christine Mackay, and councillors Reg Kaluzny, Bernie Marko, Peggy Nahirniak and Carissa Oswald. Chief Administrative Officer Katherine White-side was also in attendance.

My grandmother’s historical story takes place in the village of Harasymiw. It is located in what was the fertile land of the Ukraine once known as the bread basket of the world. This was rich land in my grandmother’s time before the Chenobyl disaster.
