The 2012 Alberta Games were held in Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, and Parkland County from Thursday, Feb. 9th to Sunday, Feb. 12th. The games included more than 2,800 athletes, coaches, and officials from the eight different zones across the province.

Some people out there really enjoy winter.

They welcome it, crying Hooray instead of muttering Humbug. They own outdoor toys, like skis, sleds and noisy snowmobiles, and actually use them for something other than hanging laundry on. Blizzards bring on happy dances because these storms result in deeper snow, all the better to play in.

Keep your cool with flag persons of big loads – RCMP

They may be annoying for drivers at times, but those pickup trucks piloting wide load vessels in our region serve a necessary purpose and must be obeyed.

So states Sgt. Jim Warren of the Tofield RCMP of the flag persons in those pilot trucks. They are responsible for the safety of their vessel as it travels down the road and the motorists that encounter that vessel.
