Tofield Tier 4 Novice hockey team fights back from down 3-0 to defeat Wetaskiwin 5-3 on the road

Tofield Tier 4 Novice (1-4-1) beat Wetaskiwin in its own barn Dec. 23, 5-3.

Wetaskiwin was leading 3-0 after the first frame before Tofield fought back to tie the game 12:40 into the third.

Marek Fritz scored the winner with 7:17 remaining.

Holden ATB robbery suspects arrested

Two men have been arrested and face 35 charges,
after Tofield and Redwater RCMP in conjunction with
the Edmonton General Investigative Section (GIS)
North, have completed a lengthy investigation into
two separate bank robberies including the ATB in
Holden in 2016.

At approximately 3:30

masked men entered the

appeared to be a gun and
demanded cash.

Committee in works to attract and retain health care workers

An Attraction and Retention Committee for Health Care Practitioners is being created and the Village of Ryley needs to be at the table, said Ryley Deputy Mayor Cyndy Heslin.

Deputy Mayor Heslin updated the newly elected council during their first meeting Oct. 24 about a joint effort between Tofield and area community leaders to recruit and retain doctors.

Jim Kallal is the reeve of Beaver County following an organizational meeting of the newly elected council on Wednesday, Oct. 25. Kallal, who represents Division 1, was the only councillor nominated and went in by acclamation.

Tofield Chamber gala a Success

The Tofield Chamber of Commerce held its gala Oct. 19 at the Community Hall with about 150 attending.

Although the chamber no longer presents annual awards to the business community, the event featured a catered supper and entertainment, the Dueling Pianos who had the crowd singing, dancing and laughing to the music.
