The front right side of Guardian Drugs in Tofield was smashed in by a truck carrying thieves intent on stealing in an early morning smash and grab. Owner Darren Erickson was left with a mess to clean up inside and outside his store.

Tofield Satellites downed defending champions North Stars in Days-land Saturday evening to clinch first place for the first time ever since entering the Senior AA Battle River Hockey League.

Down 3-0 in the third period before perhaps its largest crowd of the year Friday, Tofield Satellites scored with 2:30 remaining and 1:29 left to create an exciting conclusion to a 3-2 loss – ending its six-game winning streak.
