Tofield RCMP are warning the public not to fall for a mystery shopper scam that is circulating in the area. Two residents from local towns have fallen for such a scam and are now out $4,000 each, said Sgt. Jim Warren.

Beaver County Council heard that a safety practice by pilot trucks for wide loads is considered dangerous and unwarranted by local RCMP. The practice involves veering into oncoming traffic to force them over to the side of the road prior to the arrival of huge vessels moving down the highway.

The Tofield Satellites didn’t even need some of its top stars like Captain Brian Tavaroli or Ryan Olson on Saturday as the talented home team destroyed winless Consort Comets 12-2 at Tofield Arena.
The win was the second in a home-and-home series with Consort, with the Satellites winning the previous evening on the road 7-1.
