During the past week Tofield RCMP responded to 33 calls for service. Included in the calls for service were two motor vehicle collisions, two false alarms and a 911 hangup.
On April 15, the Tofield RCMP were called to an internal theft at the Tofield Tempo. The caller reported a cashier had stolen cash out of the cash register. The money was paid back, the employee was terminated. No charges are being laid.
On April 15, a resident of Tofield attended the RCMP detachment to report they had been the victim of a fraud. The victim had sent an e-transfer as payment for work completed at their residence. The money was intercepted by an unknown person and deposited into their account. RCMP are still investigating. . . . contd.
