Two Bruce organizations receive county funding – Bruce Stampede Association gets $75,000 for concert stage; Bruce Ag Society gets $5,000 for playground upgrade

Two Bruce organizations are getting their efforts to improve their community rewarded with funding from Beaver County under its community support program.

The Bruce Stampede Association will receive $7,500 to support construction of a stage on the Stampede grounds. A concert will be held at this year’s 99th Stampede as a dress rehearsal for the stage’s use during 100th anniversary celebrations next year.

The committee of the whole heard the request from Don Laing and Paul Dinisyk of the Bruce Stampede Association earlier in the month, and recommended that county council approve the funding.
