Police deal with many accidents, disturbances and scam-related incidents over 10-day period

On March 12, a break and enter was reported at a farm residence just south of Holden. The culprit or culprits broke a hinge on a door to gain access but didn’t appear to have stolen anything inside, said Sgt. Jim Warren.

On March 12, a woman reported a hit and run to her vehicle on main street in front of Tilly’s Restaurant in Tofield. “It appears the offending vehicle backed up and scraped the vehicle causing bumper and tail light damage,” said Warren.

On March 14, police received a report of a single vehicle rollover around 5 a.m. near Highway 14 and R.R. 170. A Jeep Cherokee entered the ditch and rolled after the driver swerved to avoid an animal on the road. Nobody was hurt in the incident.

On March 14, a report of an assault taking place on a female in the Ryley area was received. The matter is still under investigation.
