Season opener for Holden Museum
The Holden Museum held its official season opener with a Piche bun cooking demonstration on Saturday. Visitors were also treated to dessert, a drink and door prizes. Inside the museum, this was the first day that exhibits were open for public viewing and will remain so all summer. Visitors at the Holden Museum season opening were also able to enjoy a hot dog roasted on the Piche oven which is displayed in front of the museum and used during special occasions to demonstrate how bread was made in the days before electric and gas ovens. The Village of Holden will be holding its annual Farmers Day celebrations on Saturday, June 14 and the museum will be open for people to come and see what times used to be like in days gone by. There will also be a Soapbox Derby held on Main Street following the pancake breakfast and parade, along with many other activities. So come out and enjoy.
