PC Kevin Sorenson re-elected in sweep of Battle River-Crowfoot riding
Kevin Sorenson as re-elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the riding of Battle River-Crowfoot in Monday’s federal election.
He won the riding by a sizable margin, picking up 47,650 votes, good for 81 per cent, just a small amount behind his personal best in 2011.
Andy Kowalski, a Liberal Party candidate from Ryley, received 5,485 votes; Gary Kelly of Tofield with the Green Party received 1,868 votes; while Katherine Swampy, the NDP candidate, got 3,844 votes.
In Alberta, Conservatives once again swept all the ridings except four where Liberals prevailed – two in Edmonton and two in Calgary.
Federally, Justin Trudeau’s Liberals swept to a majority victory.
