Bantams bring home provincial banner

It was a triumphant and emotional weekend for the Tofield Titans Bantam group this year as they played their hearts out in Nanton, according to Head Coach Wayne Codd.

Losing their first game to Beaverlodge 6-1, with the lone goal coming in third was not the opening they had hoped for, but it gave the team enough fuel to catch up.

“Although we lost the first game, Saturday was a new day as we faced our league rivals CR Knights,” Codd said. “The team wanted the win for more reasons than just provincials.”

The Bantams made sure to secure the win 5-3 finally, but lost Zach Lungal to a concussion in the game.

Their next game against Okotoks.

“The team wanted to win the game for Zach, so that is just what they did,” Codd added. “They took it to the opponents and had an awesome game with a 8-5 win; the team never hesitated and went on their own for the early curfew.”

By this time, player Jackson Gates had scored eight goals, and finally finished with nine and 13 points in total. . . . contd.
