On May 28, a resident of Beaver County reported receiving a call from the Canada Revenue Agency advising he owed a large amount of money in unpaid taxes and there was a warrant for his arrest. The caller provided some personal information but did not forward any money. This is a fraud and the CRA does not contact people in this manner.
On May 31, Tofield RCMP were called to a Break and Enter to a residence in Ryley. Members attended and found the door had been kicked in. On checking the property it did not appear as though anything was stolen.
On May 31, Tofield RCMP were on patrol and conducted a traffic stop on a Chevy Cobalt. The driver of the vehicle was showing signs of alcohol consumption and provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device. The result of the test was a caution. The driver was issued a three-day licence suspension and the vehicle was towed and seized for three days.
On June 1, Tofield RCMP were on patrol and located a heavily intoxicated female laying in the parking lot of the Tofield Hotel. The female was uninjured, however did not have anyone to take care of her. Due to the heavy alcohol consumption, the female was taken to the hospital. While assisting the intoxicated female, members observed a fight break out in front of the Tavern. A group had been belligerent to a cab driver in front of the bar and several persons went to stand up for the driver. RCMP broke up the fight and involved parties were removed from the area.
On June 1, Tofield RCMP received a call of two intoxicated people standing on top of the Hotel Liquor store. Members attended but the suspects were no longer there. . . . contd.
