Tofield teams get mixed results in playoffs

Tofield Tier 3 Atoms won two game playoff series against Onoway and Ponoka, before taking on Drayton Valley this past weekend. In game one at DV on Friday, the home team squeaked out a 6-5 win. Hudson Lungal scored his fourth goal of the game with 5:52 remaining to tie the score 5-5 but DV scored the winner 30 seconds later. Declan Girard got the other goal for Tofield. Assists went to; Cale Helfrich, Mason Jeffrey, and Merek Fritz. Tofield hosted game two on Saturday, skating out to a 6-0 lead after two and holding on to win 6-2. Hudson scored five goals in game two, and Baylee Roberts got the other. Assists went to; Cace Hart, Logan Suchy, Cale Helfrich, Bentley Carson, Mason Jeffrey and Merek Fritz. Everett Zilkie got the win in goal.
Tofield Tier 6 Atoms split two close playoff games over the past week. On Thursday at Bruderheim, Tofield fought back from a 6-2 third period deficit to get to within one but lost 7-6. . . . contd.
