It’s mid-May and people have been out raking their lawns and a couple of days ago Hubby, looking like one of the Dwarfs just back from work in the mines, returned his ice-chipping tools to the shed and the snow shovels to the garage.

The kid came over yesterday to punch holes in our lawn (I think it’s called aerating but looks more like a set-up for a community of moles or gophers) and raked up pine cones, then speed-walked the mower over everything. So I fully expected to see snow this morning. I’m happy not to but even though the sun is shining and Hubby is talking about it being short pants weather, . . . contd.
