EDITORIAL: Policing and politics should never mix

Is anybody but me getting sick and tired of these destructive “protests”? On the weekend a statue of Canada’s first Prime Minister Sir John A. Macdonald came crashing to the ground in Montreal.

Some vandals, at the end of a march to defund police, unbolted the statue and toppled it from its pedestal several feet above ground. As gravity took effect, the likeness of Sir John A’s head broke from the statue and rolled to the grass in the park. Not disrespectful enough, the vandals then spray painted the statue with graffiti. . . . contd.
