Loose Ends: Mustangs & Marty Robbins
Our oldest grandson, Conor, turned 25 last week. He lives in Calgary and we always drove down to spend the weekend and enjoy the big bash his parents hosted annually at their acreage near Okotoks, inviting scads of family and friends to eat well and party until all hours. Small children and dogs were welcome. But with Covid’s arrival the party was shelved so we had to be satisfied with best wishes by phone; it isn’t the same.
Conor has been working through most of the pandemic, one of the lucky ones; his mom worked from home before the virus so is just carrying on but his stepdad hasn’t been as fortunate. Conor is in his second year apprenticing as an automotive technician – known as mechanics before the computers took over – and if all goes as planned he’ll start the classroom portion sometime this winter. . . . contd.
