A New One Just Like My Old One

I get cranky when something that has been working fine for years is suddenly taken away from me. Why should I have to search for a new shampoo when the one I’ve been using was perfect? My hair was squeaky clean, soft to the touch and had a pleasant, mild lemony smell. And no, it didn’t remind me of furniture polish. Let’s call it Product A, as in A-one.

For whatever reason, it suddenly disappeared from the store shelves, locally, and as much as I liked it, I wasn’t going to travel to the city to get some. A carton of my favourite iced tea, yes, but a bottle of shampoo wasn’t worth bringing home Covid. So I started looking for a replacement close to home and soon found one in a similar bottle, for a similar price, and it even had that familiar lemony scent; Product B. B as in Bad choice, as it happens. Yes, it got my hair squeaky clean, but overnight it morphed into a straw pile with rooster tails on top. Not a look I appreciate. . . . contd.
