The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

The good news was that a week of warmer temperatures, many in double digits, had us thinking spring thoughts and doing spring things. Well, Hubby, anyway – he got out the rake and started cleaning the winter refuse off the back lawn. I was thinking about wiping down the faux wicker chairs in the gazebo and asking him to bring the cushions out from wherever he’d stuck them last fall so I could fluff them up and make sure no mice had taken up residence inside. Mostly the improved weather had me thinking about Easter with the family. It would be our first gathering of the clan, if four people can be called a clan, since the Covid Grinch stole Christmas from us.

Truthfully, whatever the weather, Hubby will bake enough pies that even after the kids have taken their goody bags home we’ll be eating pies into late May. And the kids will pig out on ham with applesauce and my potato salad, no manners involved. . . . contd.
