Recently Hubby learned that the wood he wants to put on the gazebo ceiling (if that is the proper term for the inside part of a gazebo roof) will cost him almost more than the cost of building the entire gazebo. Even sheets of OSB, that pressed shavings stuff, have gone up from $14 to an unbelievable high of $71. So he’s tabled his plans for that and any other project until the prices are lowered – if there’s any chance of that happening. The word is that there’s a lumber shortage; I want to blame it on Covid messing up everything but if that is the cause then now that Covid is easing shouldn’t that improve? In a perfect world, yes, but if these last couple of years (or four with Trump and Trudeau in power) have taught us anything, it is that we are a long way from perfection.
