Hubby was born in 1942 and I made my appearance two years later, in 1944. A lot was going on in the world back then – for example, in 1942 War Bonds raised billions for the war effort and Kellogg’s Raisin Bran and instant coffee were introduced too; in 1944 Chiquita bananas and ‘Seventeen’ magazine made their debuts and Dow Chemical patented Styrofoam. But as newborns with very narrow views of the world, we didn’t know any of that. Just feed when we were hungry keep our diapers clean and dry and we were happy.

Many years have passed – 79 for Hubby, 77 for me – so if I ever knew any of those facts I’ve forgotten them.
