Unpreparedness
Yes, we knew winter was coming. Sometime soon. The only way it wasn’t going to happen was if we were magically transported to Arizona. But did the Old Man have to dump it on us all at once? Totally unfair and completely unnecessary, especially since all but the diehard skiers seeking deep powder in which to break a leg have been saying heartfelt thanks for each snowless day.
The rest of us just aren’t ready. For several reasons we find ourselves without our usual snow removers and Hubby was forced to go out this morning to shovel walks, with rests between scoops of the white stuff. He’s closing in on eighty but when I remind him all he says is, ‘Somebody’s gotta do it.’ Which is true but someone with a younger heart would be smarter.
Personally I am going outside only . . . contd.
